Response to Questions:

  1. Could a single faculty submit two separate applications for two separate studios?

No. The intention is that the Dean of a school determine which application/faculty member/program is the strongest and best represents that institution.

  2. What is the experience of previous awardees regarding the length/duration of the overseas travel?

Varies with the studio and travel distance. Most studios have been"on the ground" in the location of work for approximately two weeks, exclusive of travel time.

  3. Hi. I am an American faculty member at the University of Toronto Faculty of Architecture Landscape and Design. I am very interested to apply for the Travelling Studio grant. The NAAB and the CACB (Canadian Architectural Certification Board) have a reciprocal agreement whereby professional architecture degree programs accredited in one country are recognized in the other. Does my institution qualify for the Rotch Travelling Studio?

No, it does not, unfortunately. We have established the studio for the benefit of schools in the US although the students themselves may come from anywhere in the world.

  4. Who are the jurors for this year's grant?

We do not announce jurors' names in advance of the applications, just as we do not for the travelling scholarship itself.
