QualifyingTo apply and to be eligible for the Scholarship, candidates must be U.S. citizens under the age of 35 on January 1 of the competition year, and must have: A degree from an accredited U.S. school of architecture and one year of full-time professional experience in a Massachusetts architecture firm as of January 1 of the competition year. - or - A degree from an accredited Massachusetts school of architecture and one year of full-time professional experience in any architecture firm. The one year of full-time professional experience must be completed by the first day of the competition year. No Rotch Scholar may hold another travelling scholarship or be employed during the period of the Scholarship without special permission of the Trustees. The Rotch Travelling Scholarship Committee reserves the right to refuse to designate a Scholar in any year in which competition submissions do not, in its judgment or the judgment of the jury, show adequate merit. The candidate chosen as the Alternate Scholar in any given year may compete in the following year's final competition without reentering the preliminary competition as long as the Application and the Letter of Intent are resubmitted properly. |
