EligibilityTo apply and to be eligible for the Scholarship, candidates must be U.S. citizens under 35 years old on January 1 of the competition year, and must have: A degree from an accredited U.S. school of architecture and one year of full-time professional experience in a Massachusetts architecture firm as of January 1 of the competition year. - or - A degree from an accredited Massachusetts school of architecture and one year of full-time professional experience in any architecture firm as of January 1 of the competition year. No Rotch Scholar may hold simultaneously another travelling scholarship or be employed during the period of the Scholarship without special permission of the Trustees. The Rotch Travelling Scholarship Committee reserves the right to refuse to designate a Scholar in any year in which competition submissions do not, in its judgement or the judgement of the Jury, show adequate merit. The competitor who was designated as the Alternate in the previous year may enter the final competition without retaking the preliminary competition as long as the Application and the Letter of Intent are resubmitted properly. |
