In accepting the Rotch Travelling Scholarship award for 2010, I understand that I must leave on my travels within the 2010 calendar year and travel for a minimum of eight months. I assume the responsibilities and opportunities pertaining to the Scholarship and, in the course of my travels, shall communicate with you by monthly emails or blog, keeping you currently informed of my itinerary and present and prospective addresses with approximate estimates of length of stay at each address. My emails or blog also will describe the nature and progress of my proposed itinerary and proposed study with a list of cities and localities to be visited. I further accept the stipulation of the Trustees that I shall prepare a final written report describing and illustrating my travels. The monthly reports shall be illustrated by sketches, reproductions and photographs. The final report will be in a book format. It will become a permanent record of the Scholarship and the property of the Rotch Travelling Scholarship.
The report will be sent to the Scholarship within six months of my return, at which time the final stipend for the 2010 Rotch Scholar will be paid to me.
I will notify you well in advance of my expected date of return and also immediately upon my arrival.
